Perhaps hoping it will be a self-fulfilling prophesy, the Regional Economic Development Entity is changing its name to Thrive and is launching a new Web site, thrivehere.org, in a bid to attract businesses to the capital region of the state.
The group -- a not-for-profit organization representing Columbia, Dane,
Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock and Sauk counties -- announced the new name and marketing campaign at a meeting of the Collaboration Council at Monona Terrace this afternoon. The Collaboration Council brings together business, government, education and non-profit leaders from the eight counties.
