The Madison Region's manufacturing sector makes up 1 out of 10 jobs, placing it significantly higher than our peer regions.
Given the region's substantial physical and human capital base in the sector, manufacturing remains a factor in our economy. In particular, advanced manufacturing, in which high-tech processes are used in production, holds great promise across multiple sectors and communities. The concentration of advanced manufacturing companies in this region is unique, allowing businesses to meet, for example, their instrumentation supply needs without leaving the region. This reduces costs and supports the local economy.
Objective:
Increase awareness of the region's capacity in advanced manufacturing, and identify opportunities for specific sector supply chain connections within the region.
