Thrive is guided by the strategy of growing the agriculture, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors in the region by accelerating the entrepreneurship, growth and development of those sectors. These sectors strongly represent the place-based assets of the Madison region. We also acknowledge the value and opportunity the convergence of these sectors provides in the bio-ag and biomedical industries.

Grow-your-own and sector-focused

Thrive's economic development strategy is paired with quality of life initiatives and a "grow-your-own", target sector-focused approach. Because of this strategy, Thrive is non-traditional in nature - which complements the region's creative, innovative personality.

Information technology and nanotechnology are considered enabling technologies for the target sectors, areas in which the region possesses considerable capabilities and strengths, and which play across and heighten the possibilities of high growth in the three target sectors.

Thrive also believes in maintaining the region's very strong key base sector industries (financial services, insurance, agriculture, healthcare, education and government) while we pursue a the above strategies in our target sectors.

Thrive is a not-for-profit economic development organization supporting the eight-county Madison Region in Wisconsin.

Our counties include: Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock and Sauk.

Our vision: To grow the Madison Region's economy in ways that preserve and enhance the quality of life.
