Madison Ald. Robbie Webber, who's been known to lob fiery comments at controversial projects, this week mused on the prospects for the Wisconsin Institutes of Discovery as it takes the final steps for initial City Council approval.
"It's good that we occasionally have a project that isn't controversial," said Webber, whose west campus district bumps up against the projected $150 million research center to be built between University and Randall avenues and West Johnson and Charter streets.
In fact, Webber said, she really hadn't heard anything negative about the plan. "I think people are just very excited about a research institution," she said.
