And our agriculture is innovative: take UW-Madison's $130 million federal grant to develop cellulosic ethanol, or the Great Lakes Bioenergy Center.
Biotechnology - You're in good company. Biotech is a $4.9 billion industry in Wisconsin, and there are over 170 biotech companies in the Madison region. With organizations like the National Stem Cell Bank, WARF, WiCell, and WiSys located here, biotechnology companies of all sizes flock to the region to flourish, bringing with them hundreds of creative minds.
