About 80 regional community leaders gathered for a Jefferson County Economic Vision and Positioning Framework Initiative meeting Wednesday morning.
Broadly speaking, the goal of the 2 1/2-hour event was to review what has happened so far, and what the next steps should be, for Jefferson County's future economic development and "emerging opportunities" in a global market.
The event, which was held at the Comfort Suites Inn in Johnson Creek, featured as speakers Dennis Heling, Jefferson County Economic Development Consortium (JCEDC) coordinator; Rob Gottschalk, of the consulting firm Vandewalle and Associates, and Steve Grabow of the University of Wisconsin Extension in Jefferson County.
