The Jefferson County Economic Development Consortium recently hosted the "Economic Development in Action ... Shaping a 21st Century Economy" forum to kick off a vision and action plan for the county.
"Key assets of the county...included regional location, agriculture and food, water and natural resources, small town living, cultural heritage and corporate presence and manufacturing diversity," according to Vandewalle and Associates' Rob Gottschalk. "Jefferson County's location between Madison and Milwaukee was also mentioned as a positive characteristic of the county."
