While 2008 has been filled with economic challenges seemingly at every turn, there is no shortage of optimism in the Capital Region that 2009 will be a year of growth and opportunity.
The key to coming out ahead in 2009 is to stay focused on regional needs, according to Thrive President Jennifer Alexander. Business leaders must understand what's happening, identify opportunities and anticipate needs, she said. Thrive's target sectors of agriculture, biotechnology and health care highlight areas of growth and opportunity in the Capital Region, she said.
