Rookie Alder Thuy Pham-Rammele Makes Most of "Outsider" Role
Capital Times, 10.23.07
In less than six months, rookie Ald. Thuy Pham-Remmele has changed the political conversation in Madison so much that she is greeted as "our next mayor" on the southwest side where she lives.
The city's recent focus on public safety -- including the proposal to add 30 new police officers -- ignited after 800 residents of her district came to a meeting she organized in August to address crime. The listening session brought her constituents into the same room as Mayor Dave Cieslewicz and Police Chief Noble Wray and was quickly imitated in other parts of the city.
